About the Challenge
Addressing Gaps, Transforming Lives
The Digital Health and AI Innovation Challenge 2026 is a platform for young innovators and students across Zambia to develop practical, technology-driven solutions to real healthcare challenges in their communities.
Whether you’re a student, recent graduate, or young professional — if you have a bold idea to improve health outcomes using technology or AI, this challenge is for you.
Participants will have the opportunity to pitch solutions, collaborate with peers, and contribute to a healthier Zambia.
K500 per Applicant
The K500 fee covers your full participation in the challenge. Payment instructions are sent after form submission. Deadline to register is 24th June 2026.
FAQ
Who can participate?
The challenge is open to students currently enrolled in a college or university, and young people aged 18–35 based in Zambia with an interest in health and technology.
Can I apply as a Team?
Yes. You can apply as an individual or as a team of up to 4 members. Each team only needs to submit one application, but all team members must be listed.
Do I need a background in AI?
No. You don’t need prior experience in AI or coding. What matters most is a genuine passion for solving health problems and the drive to learn and innovate.
Is the challenge open to participants outside Zambia?
The challenge is primarily targeted at Zambia-based participants. If you’re outside Zambia, contact us at info@ghinnovates.com to confirm your eligibility.
What is the participation fee?
The participation fee is K500. Payment instructions are sent to you after you submit your registration form.
Is the K500 fee per person or per team?
The K500 fee is per innovation submitted.
Are refunds available if I change my mind after paying?
The participation fee is non-refundable once paid. Please ensure you are committed before making payment.
Do I need to have a fully built solution to apply?
No. You can apply with just an idea, an early concept, or a prototype. The challenge is designed to support participants at different stages of development.
When is the application deadline?
The deadline to register is 22nd June 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.
What happens after I submit my application?
You will receive a confirmation email once your application and payment are received. Further instructions about challenge activities and timelines will follow.
